Mentor Scheme a Success

2021 has seen the launch of the first cohort of Sing to Beat Parkinson’s mentees. 4 participants, who completed their Sing to Beat Parkinson’s Training course, were then paired with experienced practitioners currently working online.

It has proved a positive experience for both the mentors and the mentees. Here is some feedback from the first cohort:

It has definitely made me more confident in leading singing groups online and hopefully this will continue as sessions start back in real life.

I think I have grown in confidence since attending the sessions with Grenville. I have enjoyed taking part and it is lovely to see people feeling confident to take part and demonstrate things by themselves.

The STBP training introduced me to the challenges of living with Parkinson’s, the way STBP sessions can be used to positively affect people’s quality of lives and bring tangible improvements to speech and physical movement. The mentoring scheme has given me the confidence and skills to put what I have learned into practice in my own groups. A new cohort will be announced shortly.
